ClearMind

Delete your account

It takes about a minute, in the app, and it cannot be undone.

Delete it in the app

  1. Optional: take your data with you. In the app, open Settings and choose Export All Data. This is the only way to keep a copy after deletion.
  2. Cancel your subscription first, if you have one. Deleting your account does not stop Apple from billing you. On your iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, ClearMind, Cancel Subscription (apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions). You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
  3. In ClearMind, open Settings, then Account, then Delete account.
  4. Read what will be deleted, and confirm twice. Apple will ask you to confirm it is you with Sign in with Apple; that gives us a one-time code to remove ClearMind's access to your Apple ID.
  5. Wait for the confirmation. When it finishes, the app erases the data on this iPhone and returns to the welcome screen.

What is deleted

Everything we hold for your account is erased: the account record (your Apple user ID and email), devices and sessions, subscription records, the sync change log, attachments, cloud backups, usage counters and counters keyed to your account. The app checks that nothing is left before it reports success. ClearMind's access to your Apple ID is revoked with Apple. The only thing that remains is an audit record without any personal data: a one-way hash of the account ID, the times of the request and completion, and the number of rows and files removed.

It happens immediately. If a step cannot finish at once (for example, a storage provider is briefly unavailable), the app tells you, your account stays closed and our server retries every hour until it is complete.

What deletion cannot reach: copies you exported, and anything OpenAI already received while you used AI features, which OpenAI keeps for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring under its own policy (see the privacy policy). Apple keeps its own records of your purchases.

If you no longer have the app

Install ClearMind again, sign in with the same Apple ID, and follow the steps above. If you cannot do that, write to chase.mwilliams@outlook.com from the email address of your Apple ID (or tell us the private relay address Apple showed). We may ask you to confirm it is you, and we will delete the account and answer within 30 days.

Only the data on this iPhone

Settings, Delete All Personal Data removes the on-device database without touching your cloud account. Deleting the app also removes the local data, but not the account.

Stop Sign in with Apple yourself

You can always remove ClearMind's access from Apple's side: iPhone Settings, your name, Sign-In & Security, Sign in with Apple, ClearMind, Stop Using Sign in with Apple. That alone does not delete your stored data; delete the account as above for that.
